Conclusion

Notes:

We have talked about two basic examples in bridge construction, both have been innovated in different environments, and the result of both innovation is different. In the long term Finley’s idea of a level roadway suspension bridge opened a realm of possibilities which builders have explored ever since. Navier’s theoretical work brought more sophistication to structural theory and helped to make statistics, mechanics, and theory of elasiticity more powerful tools in the hands of engineers.
In the short term both desifn was successful.
